Outrage as Popular South African DJ Killed in the Heart of Johannesburg.
A prominent South African radio and club DJ has been fatally gunned down in the country's largest city Johannesburg, triggering widespread grief across a nation struggling with rampant crime.
Warrick Stock, who went by the name DJ Warras, was gunned down in the downtown area on a Tuesday afternoon.
Police said the forty-year-old entertainer was accosted by three individuals, one of whom began shooting at him before running away.
The motive of the incident remains unclear and no one has been arrested are in custody, as per the official statement.

Police said that Stock was targeted as he was exiting a location near the Carlton Centre.
He had been present for hours at the site supervising the setup of safety equipment, which had been reportedly taken over by unidentified individuals, as per local media.
"Authorities believe the deceased was confronted by three unidentified men after parking his vehicle, and they shot at him before fleeing the scene on foot," a police statement said.
Security camera video reportedly depicted a suspect with dreadlocked hair and wearing what looked like a guard's attire firing shots on Stock before making his escape.
The DJ attempted to flee after he was hit but succumbed to his injuries across the street.
Officials noted that Stock had an unused firearm and no items were stolen during the assault.
