Fans Call for Custody of Person Who Seized Ariana Grande
Passionate followers of the actress are calling for that a individual who breached a barricade and touched the actress during the recent Wicked: For Good premiere be taken into custody or removed from Singapore.
A widely shared clip reveals the Australian man pushing past photographers and charging at Grande while the performers walked down a yellow carpet surrounded by fans.
Fellow actress Cynthia Erivo quickly guided the shocked star away from Mr Wen, who was observed being led away of the premiere by security officers.
Mr Wen shared on Instagram late on Thursday that he was "released after being arrested", though official papers indicated that he was due to appear on Friday morning. It is unknown if he was faced legal action.
History of Event Invasions
This is part of a pattern for Mr Wen, who labels himself a "Troll Most Hated", has disrupted a concert or event. His Instagram feed contains clips of him interrupting other high-profile occasions, including breaching the performance area at the pop singer's Sydney performance in June this year and in a like fashion during The Chainsmokers concert in the same location last year.
"Measures must be taken taken against him as this is evidently a punishable act," commented an Instagram user, in a response to a video Mr Wen shared of his behavior.
"Oh wow so you do this a lot... how aren't you in jail?" a different Instagram user remarked.
Followers Show Disapproval Over Grande's Past Trauma
Numerous fans accused Mr Wen for "triggering past anxiety" Grande, who had discussed experiencing PTSD after a devastating incident at the finale of her spring 2017 show in Manchester, resulting in the death of 22 people and harming hundreds.
"Ariana has been through so many scary things... and at her Manchester concert and you thought it would be fun to jump the barricade?" commented another response on Instagram.
Several attendees also faulted security officers at the Thursday event for not being adequately prepared; while different individuals called for digital services to remove Mr Wen's content.
Reaction and Premiere Information
In footage shared widely, Grande appeared surprised when she was grabbed by the man. Her fellow actors Michelle Yeoh and Erivo can be spotted reassuring her while Mr Wen was escorted away by security.
Grande has remained silent on the situation, and the premiere activities continued without further issues.
