Ex- Doctor Accused of Sexual Assault Allegations Involving 38 Individuals in His Care
Prosecutors have announced that a ex- doctor has been charged with carrying out sexual assaults against thirty-eight victims who were under his care.
Details of the Grave Allegations
The accused, Nathaniel Spencer from Birmingham has been charged with dozens of sexual offences – some of which involve acts against children younger than 13 – between 2017 to 2021.
A senior prosecutor commented, “Legal teams have diligently worked to assist a thorough and intricate investigation, carefully reviewing the evidence to establish that there is a strong case to bring the case to trial and that it is in the public interest.”
The Police Inquiry
These allegations follow what police called a “detailed inquiry” into alleged assaults at two hospitals: a hospital in Stoke-on-Trent and Russells Hall hospital.
The defendant will appear at the local magistrates' court on January 20th.
Breakdown of Offences
The charging documents said the 45 charges include:
- Fifteen counts of assault.
- Seventeen counts of assault by penetration.
- Nine counts of assault on a minor under thirteen.
- 3 counts of penetrative assault on a child under thirteen.
- 1 count of attempted penetrative assault.
